5/6 E
In 5/6 Lewinski we have been looking at the power of words and vocabulary.
Blackout poetry refers to any poem in which the author covers a majority of a source text in favour of leaving a handful of words exposed to form a poem. There are many ways to cover the pre-existing text. Poet’s paint, collage, scribble with pen and pencil and crayon over pages of books and newspapers and all kinds of other texts.
We have used photocopied pages from our previous class novels to create our own Blackout poetry.
