This term the 3-4 Pod has lots of exciting things planned and we are already off to a strong start with Lisa Ford and Fleur from the Resilience Co. who came in this week to deliver learning to students around navigating friendships. They spoke to the students about mean and rude behaviour and what bullying really is. They provided some great pro-active strategies about being assertive in the right way – how to say no, and when to get help.  

This will be valuable learning for us as we continue to develop our Ready, Respectful and Safe approach at Austins Ferry. 

Our 3-4 Student Voice team have also been working hard on improving the pod through brainstorming many amazing ideas and creating an action plan. As part of that action plan students have created a Pyjama Day for this Friday to raise money for Pod upgrades. The Student Voice Team created some lovely posters to advertise this work. Well done to the SVT!  

We will give other students a chance to be a part of the SVT in the coming weeks.  

Later this term, the 3-4 students will be visiting Richmond to learn more about Tasmania’s colonial history as part of our pod HASS inquiry. Stay tuned on Seesaw for more information about the dates for this excursion.  

We also have Learn to Swim coming up this term which will be a great opportunity to develop confidence in the water and support better water safety. Thank you to Ms Stalker for organising this important activity.
