Exciting news! Congratulations to Mr Nicholas and his wife Claire on the birth of a healthy baby boy, Jude Tasman, 3.47 kg, on 3 August 2020.
Mr Nicholas will take a well-deserved three week break to spend time with his wife and three children. We wish them all the best during this special time.
Staffing
Three of our teachers will step up in senior leadership roles to support our learners live the values of Respect, Courage, Aspiration and Growth - Malcolm McArthur, Robyn Slater and Anita Button. They will have a range of programs and projects that they will manage – so keep your ears open for exciting opportunities planned like the Values Voucher Experiences.
COVID-19 update
Thank you to our school community for recognising the importance of maintaining good hygiene and practising physical distancing. A reminder that we still need to cap numbers for assemblies, so please refer to opening times and allow time for the additional sign in and screening procedures. It is a timely reminder with Victoria returning to home learning, about the important role we all play in ensuring the health and safety of Tasmania and our loved ones. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Special Data Collection Form - For Parents
This week you will have received a note home about completing Special Data Collection Forms. Part of our school funding is determined by the data collected from these forms. Please complete the information and return them to school by Friday 7 August 2020. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Leavers Tops
It was a great honour to be able to present our Year 6 Leavers with their Leaver’s Tops on Wednesday. 2020 has been an unprecedented time for our Year 6 students, but we are proud of how they have navigated a difficult year, yet continue to lead with courage and resilience. Congratulations to all our Year 6 students – don’t they look just fine!
Early Learning Matters
Families that were participating in Launching into Learning (LiL) sessions during Term 1 and families with a student in Kindergarten will shortly be receiving a Bouncing Back – Talk and Read Pack. The family bags will include posters and electronic resources and fun ideas about talking and reading that can support children’s learning both at home and at school
Thank you
Even with Mr Nicholas away, our high expectations remain for student learning and behaviour; please continue to connect with your class teacher as the first point of call. It is business as usual at Austins Ferry Primary School.
