Principal's Newsletter
Welcome to Term 2 and our new way of providing education for our community, it has certainly been a time of change and a period where flexibility and patience has been required by all! Our staff and community as a whole have been so supportive during this time of COVID-19 and changes associated with social distancing.
I would like to congratulate our staff on their work over the past month and thank parents and carers for their support. We acknowledge that learning from home provides some challenging times but with support from our teachers and a can do attitude from parents we are seeing a lot of success and learning happening.
As a school we are missing our students but understand the current situation is supporting the safety of our community, we are certainly looking forward to seeing students return in the near future once the Government gives the all clear.
While many students have been learning from home we have had the chance to undertake some projects to improve our grounds, this has included upgrades of school signs, new basketball rings and organisation of resources across the school.
During this time of learning from home we have developed a new email address for parents to use when they are requiring support from the following services – Social worker, Pshycologist, Nurse and Speech Therapist. Parents just need to send an email to this address AFPS.support@education.tas.gov.au outlining their concern/issue/request and one of our specialists will reply with a plan of support.
Jess our Kitchen Specialist has also been busy in the kitchen preparing batches of soup for any families who would like some. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for collection days and times. The soup is available to all families no matter your situation so please take up the offer.
Once again I would like to thank our community for their support and rest assured we will provide you with the most up to date information on return to school through all of our communication channels. Until then stay safe, social distance and enjoy learning at home.
